38 year old John Higginbottom fell more than 40 feet from the rocks at Raven’s Roost on the Blue Ridge Parkway Monday, 9-1-08. Apparently the man’s climbing apparatus failed and caused the accident. His friend called 911 and rescue workers from Augusta County and Wintergreen responded to the scene. John Higginbottom was airlifted to the UVA Medical Center in critical condition.
